A MAN has been charged with deliberately running down a pedestrian following an argument at Queanbeyan last night.

About 6.30pm the 20-year-old man got into an argument with a 43-year-old man at a service station on Lowe Street.
The older man walked off, while the other man drove away in his Toyota Camry sedan with his brother and his brother’s girlfriend.
Around 30 minutes later, the 20-year-old was driving along Cooma Road at Karabar when he spotted the same man again.
Words were again exchanged, before the driver allegedly performed a u-turn and struck the pedestrian with his car.
The 43-year-old was taken to hospital with a range of injuries including possible fractured leg and internal injuries. His condition is stable and the injuries are not life-threatening.
Police from Monaro Local Area Command arrested the 20-year-old man and seized the car for examination.
He has been charged with using offensive instrument (car) with intent to commit indictable offence and bailed to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on 17 February 2014.
