Emergency services were called to the property on South Marulan Road believed to be operated by Foti Fireworks at about 2.40pm on Monday, where they found a box-style pantec truck and a grassed area on fire.
The blaze was extinguished and a 38-year-old was treated for severe burns at the scene, before being airlifted to Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.
He died on Tuesday morning.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner, and NSW Police and Workcover will be investigating the incident to determine how the explosion occurred.
Comment has been sought from Foti Fireworks.
