Council received $418,000 in NSW Government funding to reconstruct and widen the road over the next two financial years.
“We will be reconstructing a 400-500m section of pavement which includes widening and minor alignment improvements,” Council's engineering manager Nathan Cooke said.
"Motorists travelling along Captains Flat Rd will have noticed variable message boards from 28 January and site preparation commenced on 30 January.
"We expected to start construction on Monday and works should take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
"Throughout construction, traffic control will be in place so we ask motorists to drive carefully and follow the instructions of the traffic controllers," Mr Cooke said.
