In other big news for the club, they have signed Canberra United W-League and Matildas mid-fielder Meg McLaughlin ahead of the upcoming Womens Premier League season.
Ashleigh Palombi was again in stellar form, kicking two goals in the win over Tuggeranong and taking her Fed Cup tally to a competition best of six.
And according to coach Tilly Carbone, her combination with new midfielder Georgia Fogarty was lethal and should have the team in good stead ahead of the Fed Cup final and this year's WPL.
The Panthers lost key players in grand final best-and-fairest Olivia Moore, defender Becky Walls and goal keeper Jocelyn Mara at the end of last season, however Carbone said results in the Fed Cup meant the team had covered those losses.
"With the losses from last year and the gains for this year and they way we've been playing so far, I think we'll be a stronger outfit than what we were in year one," said Carbone.
Carbone has added goal keeper Gill Raymond to his new-look side this year, while defender Lizzy Reid and mid-fielder Hayley Hind have also joined the squad.
While he is enthusiastic on retaining the Federation Cup, Carbone is already looking to round one of the Premier League where the Panthers will take on the ANU at Riverside Stadium.
He said it was important for players to remain focused, and said he wanted them to work on a "possession-based style of game".
"At this stage of the season we're playing a really good style of football," he said.
"The style I've wanted them to play is really a proactive passing game and a proactive possession game."
"They've been executing really well."
Meanwhile Carbone said the signing of McLaughlin would bury opponents on the left side of the field.
He said her addition to his left wing could bring them their first WPL title.
"She was a member of the young Matildas and she played in Canberra United's premiership winning team last year, so she's a fantastic addition to the side," he said.
The Federation Cup final kicks off at the Hawker Football Centre at 5pm on Sunday.
