Kennedy ready to step up for Brisbane Broncos

Former Roosters prop Martin Kennedy is expected to start against his former club on Friday night with Ben Hannant likely to miss the clash against the reigning premiers due to a hamstring injury.

Hannant aggravated the injury at training this week, leaving the Broncos without two of their big boppers after Josh McGuire was suspended for one week.

Tigers centre Tim Simona will play his first game of the year, so too Joel Reddy, when he lines up for South Sydney for the first time against his former club at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

The Sharks welcome back Todd Carney, but hooker Michael Lichaa is tipped to drop off the bench with Isaac De Gois to take his place.

Dragons forwards Jack De Belin and Jack Stockwell will be given until kick-off on Saturday night to prove they have overcome respective leg injuries.

The Sea Eagles will give lock Glenn Stewart, who was named on Tuesday, every chance to prove his fitness for the clash against Parramatta on Saturday night.

Titans five-eighth Aidan Sezer is out with a quad injury, with Ashley Harrison expected to slot into the halves in his absence against the Raiders.

Jarrad Kennedy and Paul Vaughan will move into the starting line-up for the absent Shaun Fensom (suspended) and Josh Papalii (injured). David Shillington will play his first game of the year after recovering from a rib injury.
