Inspector Chris Varley said although there were no fatalities or serious accidents on local roads, police still booked six drivers for drink driving.

"Given the amount of people travelling on our road, to get five or six PCAs is relative to the number of motorists on the road," he said.

"However, it's still disappointing that people are choosing to drink and drive, especially over the Easter weekend."

Those charged include a 32-year-old male motorcyclist who blew 0.09 at 1.30am on Saturday, April 19.

A 26-year-old woman returned a result of 0.113 at 1.10am on Sunday.

And a 52-year-old Queanbeyan woman was caught driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.118 on Monday night, at 10.45pm.

All three were charged with driving with a mid range PCA and have had their licences suspended. They will appear at Queanbeyan Local Court at a future date.

Inspector Varley reminded community members to drive safely and monitor their alcohol consumption over the coming Anzac long weekend.

"Traditionally Anzac Day and the long weekend tends to be a problem for police in terms of intoxication, assaults and anti-social behaviour stemming from licensed premises in town," Inspector Varley said.

"Certainly we advise the community, if people intend to drink they should do so responsibly and not to excess. They don't want to find themselves on the wrong side of the front door of the police station."
