The competition features clubs Waratah, Sunrise, the Royals, Jerrabomberra Joeys, and Bungendore, each of which will play each other for 15 rounds before the top four finishers play each other in the finals series.
The regional competition provides a platform for aspiring netballers to make their way into the Queanbeyan side that courts in the ACT State League.
Waratah and Sunrise have the advantage of hosting most of Queanbeyan Netball's senior players, and lead the competition after three rounds.
Queanbeyan Netball Association president Rena Spears said the 2014 season was looking in good shape after what she described was one of the best season launches in recent years.
"We only have that gala day once a year that launches the season, and everyone participated really well and enjoyed themselves," she said.
Each club participated in a march around the netball courts while chanting their club songs, with the Bungendore Netball Club declared the winners of the chant, receiving free netballs from Queanbeyan Mayor Tim Overall.
Speaking of her own Waratah side in first division of the competition, Spears said she was happy with the performances of new players in the team.
"We've got a team of bright juniors that are coming through, and some of our state league players are playing in there as well, so it's a good combination," she said.
The competition will break for the June 7 long weekend when Spears sends a Queanbeyan open team and under 17s representative team to take on other New South Wales based teams at the State Championships in Sydney.
"A lot of our state league players will be involved in this and they're training an extra night per week too, so they're looking forward to it," said Spears.
Meanwhile Queanbeyan takes on Belconnen in the ACT State League tonight.
