While heavyweights the Tuggeranong Vikings remain undefeated and 13 points clear at the top of the ladder, positions two to five are separated by just two competition points.

The Whites have benefited from two early byes and four bonus points, which despite having played one less game than each other side, has them in third spot on 24 competition points with three wins, while Gungahlin, Western Districts and the Canberra Royals sit nearby with inferior points differential.

But rookie centre Keith Morgan knows just how important it will be for his men to string wins together and move ahead of the pack, which is something they have not been able to do yet this season.

"The team's got a lot of potential, and we need to push through and win a few more games," said Morgan.

"We'll need to make sure we don't drop off at all, just keep going hard, and not make mistakes like we have been so far."

Along with fullback Brendon Spears, half Billy Chalker and forward Tai Valeni, Morgan is settling into his first full season of first grade with the Whites losing stars Sam Windsor and Sevu Camivuna at the end of last season.

He said with the club having continuously made the finals since their last premiership in 2010, the young guns were keen to impress for years to come.

"The team we have at the moment could still take out the competition as it is," said Braidwood product Morgan.

"There's definitely talent coming through the club that will continue to improve our club."

The Whites suffered a shock 19-17 loss to Uni-Norths Owls at Campese Field when they last met in round four, and will look to avenge that at ANU North Field.
