Wedding: Andrew Tillett and Natalie Jupe

Queanbeyan couple, Andrew, 33 and Natalie, 31 were so in love with each other; they decided to get married not once but twice.

Although their official wedding date was set for November, 2014, the couple was secretly married a few months prior.

The reason being, the couple had been preselected for the US Green Card Visa Lottery and needed a marriage certificate for their application.

"We've travelled to the US together twice and both love Los Angeles," Natalie explained. "We have been applying for the green card lottery for many years as we have always wanted to live in the US."

The first ceremony was held on June 28, 2013. It was an intimate affair with the exchanging of vows in front of a few close friends in Queanbeyan Park followed by drinks and nibbles at the couple's home.

The "official" wedding was held later in the year on November 29, 2013. It was a family affair held on the NSW Central Coast where Andrew and Natalie both hail from. Festivities were held at The Glasshouse Function Centre at The Entrance.

The couple chose a "beach chic" theme to tie in with the location and their bridesmaids were saved from uncomfortable heels with flip flops being the footwear of choice.

The bride wore a Diana Ferrari dress at her local wedding and chose a David Lawrence number for her second wedding.

The wedding cake, made by The Sweetest Thing at Terrigal, featured very sweet cake toppers - Mr and Mrs Smurf figurines that they had bought 10 years earlier.

The couple met through friends and had been together for 10 years before tying the knot. The couple had a two-year engagement with Andrew popping the big question following a holiday in the USA. He proposed at the Griffith Observatory overlooking Los Angeles at night.

Andrew and Natalie spent their honeymoon in Noosa.

And as for the green card lottery which prompted their double-wedding? Well, they're still yet to hear if it has been successful. Fingers crossed.
