A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a two-car collision at a notoriously dangerous intersection in Queanbeyan.

The accident occurred along Morton Street and Richard Avenue, Queanbeyan at about 4.30pm on Sunday, July 6. Queanbeyan Police could not provide more details about the accident and were unable to confirm the identities of the drivers involved.
A witness heard the crash from 150 metres up the road and said neighbours gathered at the scene to help administer first aid and direct traffic before emergency services arrived.
He said it was unclear which driver was at fault. The intersection has two give way signs along the Richard Avenue sides but locals have said many accidents have occurred at this particular spot.
"It's the worst intersection," the witness said.
"Wish I could say this sort of thing doesn’t happen all the time at this intersection."
