Judd has been restricted to just five games this season due to a recurring hamstring injury. But on Thursday, Murphy backed the dual Brownlow Medallist to continue playing next season.
"His body's fine no doubt, I reckon he'll go on next year. He's an important player for us and a leader around the club as well. If his body's right, I'll be pushing for him to go on. He's great to have out there," Murphy said.
Judd is yet to re-sign for what would be his 14th year in the AFL. He has averaged 23 disposals since returning for the second time this season in round 13 against Hawthorn.
Last Sunday's victory over St Kilda was the first AFL win Judd has played in since his comeback a month ago.
