The importance of the river to the Ngunnawal people was detailed in the lesson, and Mr Brown shared his knowledge of how they used the water and the things in it.
He referred to the river as their “supermarket”, as it supplied everything the community needed and was part of their daily life.
Students were invited to draw a picture of the river after listening to the talk.
The students said they enjoyed learning about totem animals, and how the Ngunnawal people used their weapons for hunting.
“Adrian told us lots of interesting stories and showed us lots of interesting things,” one student said.
