She was the first baby at the Queanbeyan hospital to be placed in a $35,000 vital new piece of equipment, a Panda neonatal resuscitaire unit.

For two hours after her birth, Agamjot needed the high-tech piece instrument to help her survive. 

Midwife and acting maternity manager Jenny Flaherty said it’s used once or twice a week, and ultimately could mean a sick baby didn’t have to be transferred to Canberra.

“It gives us specialist care when we need it, and fast.”

The device has a variety of capabilities for the safe delivery of babies.

It was purchased through generous donations from C3 Church and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
