The Marques in the Park event will see more than 300 classic cars on display at John Knight Memorial Park in Belconnen on October 30.
The event is now in its 13th year, and organisers are touting the upcoming display as the largest yet.
While the event is organised by the American Car Club of Australia, it won’t be just American cars on display.
Organiser Sheila Rasamen said cars from all eras would be there for motor enthusiasts.
“There’ll be the whole gamut of cars there, it’s for everyone and anyone if they like cars,” she said.
“We even had some electric cars a few years ago.”
Also on display will be motorbikes, trucks and even caravans.
Ms Rasamen said while events in previous years had unintentionally clashed with other car club events around the ACT, a large turn out was expected this year.
“We’re expecting for more than 1000 people to show up,” she said.
It isn’t just members of car clubs who will be able to show off their cars at the event, with members of the public also invited to display their pride and joy.
For Ms Rasamen, it will be her 1966 model Valiant.
She said for a classic car, it still looked just as modern as it did when it came off the production line 50-years-ago.
“I’ve always liked old cars as opposed to the new ones, even as a daily drive,” she said.
“I just love the way it feels when you drive them and the whole experience takes you back to when you were a child and brings back a whole lot of memories.”
The car enthusiast said she’s looking forward to her car taking place among hundreds of others from across the ACT.
“It’s a way for people to see just what type of cars are around and for them to open their eyes to a whole other world,” she said.
