The riverside park will be opened by the Governor-General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, on December 3.
The upgrades have seen the addition of a wet-area and playground for children, a lawn amphitheatre and landscaping.
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council administrator Tim Overall said it would be an honour to have the Governor-General to reopen the park.
“The upgrades to the park will make the park a fantastic multi-purpose space,” Mr Overall said.
“At my most recent site inspection, I was delighted to see the progression of the area and look forward to seeing families and the community enjoying the park in coming months.”
