The final touches are being put in place on the newly revamped Queen Elizabeth Park before it reopens to the public officially on Saturday.

The landscaping and upgrade project took 14 months to complete, after it began in September 2015. Administrator Tim Overall said the project makes the most of the location near the river.
“This is a transformational project that links the wonderful riverfront with our CBD,” he said.
“The project really brings it together and creates a vibrant sense of place. There are going to be a number of wonderful activities here as we move into next year.”
The reopening is on Saturday, with the official ceremony at 1pm by the Governor-General. A family event will take place from 11am, with roving entertainers, food and drink vendors and musicians.
