Following the park’s opening earlier this month the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Administrator Tim Overall said he is keen to use the space for community events.
He said booking this concert highlights the quality and flexibility of the park.
“This is a real coup for the Queanbeyan-Palerang region and it is brilliant that we can make use of the new park for such a fantastic event,” Mr Overall said.
“The new stage and amphitheatre are perfect for relaxing by the river and enjoying the talents of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.”
The event promises to be an ideal family event to capitalise on the built-in seating or with a picnic on the lawn.
The orchestra will perform on March 4.
Further details will be available in the coming months.
