Roestbakken, 15, debuted against Newcastle last month and became the second youngest player in W-League history to score a goal when she slotted an 83rd-minute winner to hand Melbourne City its first ever loss.
"When that went in I was so stoked I just couldn't believe it," Roestbakken said.
Mature beyond her years, Roestbakken agreed it was an incredible moment in her young career but she has already shifted her focus to future games.
"I was really happy after that [goal] and am still shocked and can't believe it happened, but now we have to move on and work hard against Brisbane who will be tough," she said.
"It [scoring] definitely builds up my confidence and next time I step out on the park hopefully I can continue to bring that same level of confidence." The Merici College student said her social media had been in overdrive since her W-League debut and then making headlines with her heroics against City.
"Yeah it has been going off a bit, but you know hopefully I can just stay grounded and I'll be all good," Roestbakken said.
"It is a dream come true and I didn't expect it to happen this quickly at all, I've been following Canberra United since I was a kid and I'm just so excited to be here."
After breaking into the top flight of women's football, Roestbakken said it had been a steep learning curve.
"I have had to grow up a bit but I'd definitely prefer to be playing football this summer instead of going to the beach with friends and everything like that," she said.
"I absolutely love playing football so getting this opportunity with Canberra United has been amazing and I just need to keep working as hard as I can.
"Starting a game is definitely a goal of mine this season, but I just want to do my best for the team and if we can take out the W-League, too, then that would great."
