A motorcyclist has been transported to hospital after a near miss with a falling tree in Queanbeyan.

A police spokesman said the rider swerved and fell off his bike after a tree fell on the road in front of him.
He said the rider, who had minor injuries, was lucky to escape without serious harm.
The incident occurred near the corner of Erin and Colett Streets during Friday’s short but intense storm.
Roads are closed and power is cut in other parts of Queanbeyan, including Cooma Street which is closed near the primary school due to a fallen tree.
The Queanbeyan State Emergency Service had 57 calls by about 5pm with more coming in, spokesman Brent Hunter said.
He said there were a number of serious incidents across the city, including trees down throughout parks and play areas.
The unit had been activated and were working with the Rural Fire Service and Queanbeyan council to manage the situation.
Mr Hunter said they were expecting to work for most of the night to clear up the storm damage.

Essential Energy regional manager southern, Steven Ilitch, said crews were responding to a number of outages and isolated incidents as a result of the storm activity.
He said network protection equipment activated just before 4.20pm to isolate supply to around 1,300 customers in parts of Jerrabomberra and Karabar after detecting a fault on the electricity network.
“Crews have been dispatched to investigate the cause of the power outage, however, a supply restoration time is currently unknown,” he said.
A fallen tree had caused damaged and a power outage to 77 customers in the vicinity of Dane Street, Woodger Place and Laura Place, Karabar who lost supply at 4.27pm.
Essential Energy staff were onsite making repairs, however a restoration time was unknown.
About 140 customers in the Hoskinstown area have been without power since 4.20pm as a result of a large tree making contact with the electricity network.
A restoration time is currently unknown, however, crews will be working as quickly as safety allows to restore supply.
Mr Illitch reminded the public to stay at least eight metres away from damaged or fallen power lines.
“Always treat power lines as live and remember that anything in contact with them, such as cars, trees or fences, can conduct electricity and pose a danger,” Mr Illitch said.
“We encourage residents to immediately report fallen powerlines, network damage, fires or trees contacting powerlines to Essential Energy on 13 20 80 or call Triple-0 if the situation is life threatening.”
