A spokesman for the ACT government has reminded public transport passengers that fares on Canberra's bus services increased on Saturday.

However, free off-peak bus travel is now available for eligible senior and concession card holders as part of a twelve month trial.
Overall, MyWay fares will increase by up to 20 cents in some cases but using the card is still cheaper than paying cash.
From Saturday, seniors and concession card holders will be able to travel for free on weekdays between 9am and 4.30pm, after 6pm and all day Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
But the free travel is not available for student and tertiary card holders
Passengers using the free travel were reminded to tap on and off with the MyWay card to avoid being charged.
