Council’s new engagement website is live. Head to yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au to have your say on any proposals that are on exhibition. A proposed extension to the Queanbeyan Indoor Sports Centre as well as the Queanbeyan CBD Transformation Strategy are the first projects for community comment. Users are required to register on the site to participate (three residents who register in February will be selected at random to receive free tickets to a show at The Q theatre or a $100 dining voucher).

Our Future - Make it yours:
A project to engage the entire Queanbeyan-Palerang community in shaping the future of the new region has begun. This is an opportunity for the community to help set the direction of the new region. The community feedback will inform a number of projects, and most importantly the Community Strategic Plan for Queanbeyan-Palerang. The feedback will be gathered through a questionnaire at the yourvoice engagement website, but paper copies of the survey are available at council customer service offices and libraries in Braidwood, Bungendore and Queanbeyan. The feedback will guide the Draft Strategic Plan which will be on the table for incoming councillors following the council election in September.
Queanbeyan CBD Transformation Strategy:
The draft strategy is aspirational, aimed at promoting discussion and sets a strategic framework for a suite of plans to guide future development, design and shaping of the public domain. It also provides for community and commercial partnerships to guide the CBD masterplan, the staged construction of public domain, and the revision of the development control plan – to transform the Queanbeyan CBD. The strategy is on public exhibition via yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au and at council customer service offices and libraries in Braidwood, Bungendore and Queanbeyan.
Bungendore Structure Plan:
There continues to be significant interest in residential development in Bungendore, with a number of proposals considered at recent council meetings.
Council has agreed not to refer any further planning proposals to the Minister for Planning until additional water supply is secured and the review of the Bungendore Structure Plan, originally adopted in 2010, has been completed. The plan is currently under review.
