It's all the result of a 'perfect storm' of high concentrations of bait and ideal water temperatures.
The marlin, mainly a mix of striped and blue, are thick off the coast of Bermagui, with the area known as the '12 Mile' the scene of many hook-ups.
They're being caught off Batemans Bay, Nowra and Merimbula, too.
At Montague Island, the kingfish action has slowed dramatically, with just a few rats on offer of late.
Most inshore reefs are worth exploring for a snapper or two, along with flathead, nannygai and the ubiquitous leatherjacket.
Bream are dominating catches in the estuaries. There are some large specimens in the Moruya River, along with estuary perch and flathead. Tuross is yielding smaller bream and flatties.
The perfect weather we've been experiencing has coaxed Canberra anglers out onto local waterways like Googong, where they've found the fishing quite productive.
The dam is home to good numbers of big redfin and some fat late-season golden perch. Targeting schools with lipless crankbaits and vibes has worked a treat.
Anglers fishing the Thredbo River have spotted one or two massive browns in the shallows, but these fish, clearly early spawners, are not interested in taking flies or lures at the moment.
However, there are reasonable numbers of much smaller browns willing to take dry flies fished in the runs.
