The Dachshund fashion parade and street walk attracted about 50 dogs and plenty of sausage dog enthusiasts.

There was young Suki, dressed as a bunch of grapes in an outfit her owner made, and her brother from another mother Gunner, dressed as a red chilli, or a capsicum "if you squint", owner Ashlee Close said.

"It was a good atmosphere, everyone loved the costumes," Ms Close said.

"Everyone was really excited to see the dogs. The dogs really enjoyed themselves."

Frankfurt, Pretzel, Strudel and Schnitzel, not to be confused with food on offer on the day, were dressed to impress by their owner Narelle Burton.

Ms Burton dressed up all four dogs.

"One was in a pram, she was covered with all sorts of vegetables. One of the dogs had a nice hessian bag-covered bunch of flowers on her back, and two of the boys were carrying their own little baskets of vegetables, made of felt, on their backs," Ms Burton said.

"I think they think their mother is nuts, but they get a nice big steak at the end [so they behave]," Ms Burton said.

The crowds were thrilled to see so many dachshunds, and the dogs were happy with the attention, she said.

The festival featured market stalls and classes including beekeeping basics and olive oil infusing in an effort to promote the freshness in growing, breeding and production of produce in the southern harvest region.
