They often have equipment and skills beyond even the most keen of amateurs, plus they’ll often be more keen to get stuck in and get the job finished since procrastination would prevent them from getting paid.
Handyman operators may also be able to offer a wider range of services that you might not have otherwise thought about.
Painting, plastering, fence, tile or wall repairs, some types of cleaning, and general maintenance, are all fairly obvious jobs you might call them for.
Some of the things you may not have thought of immediately could be replacing door locks or fly screens, installing new security doors, and plumbing repairs like replacing leaky taps or doing drainage repairs.
You can ask some of them to fix or build new decks or pergolas, to replace a fence, or various electrical tasks that range from replacing a light bulb to rewiring a whole house.
A handyman can also do gardening chores or get much more involved and perform some landscaping, especially if they have a Bobcat at their disposal.
Paving is another thing a handyman is good for, be it an outdoor entertainment area or paths in the garden.
Some can even rebuild your kitchen for you.
One operator who does offer any and all of the above is Hicksy the Handyman. See www.hicksy.com.au.
