Her most recent appointment sees her heading the team at the new Canberra office of the long-established regional law firm, Commins Hendriks Solicitors.
Well before filling that senior position though, Ms Ross began practising as a plaintiff litigation lawyer back in 2003 with Ward Keller Lawyers in Darwin.
Her area of responsibility there was predominantly that of personal injuries.
She was then recruited by Minter Ellison Lawyers as a commercial litigator.
In 2009 Heather relocated to Canberra to take up a senior litigation role with Bradley Allen Lawyers.
Ms Ross then moved over to Porter Lawyers where she acted principally for clients in the difficult area of institutional child sexual abuse claims, as well as the areas of forced adoptions and medical negligence.
“What I bring to the role at Commins Hendriks is extensive experience in Canberra not only in personal injuries claims, but also in commercial litigation as well,” Ms Ross said.
“I think I’ve been lucky to have had such a diverse career. I’ve had the opportunity to work for not only individuals, but large corporate organisations too.”

Initially, the focus for Ms Ross and her team will be on personal injuries claims, including medical negligence, motor vehicle accident and public liability claims.
In that regard, they will also have the support of the firm’s current compensation litigation team at Wagga.
The new Canberra office for Commins Hendriks Solicitors adds a seventh location to the firm’s network, and is their first outside the NSW Riverina region.
Their other locations are Wagga, Junee, Henty, Tumut, Coolamon and Ganmain.
The Canberra office for Commins Hendriks is on Level 4 of the AMP Building in Hobart Place.
