Now he might get to play a hand in shaping the change in the community himself, running as a candidate in the upcoming Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council election.
The candidate for the Liberal Party said he’s putting himself forward as a candidate to represent small businesses in the area.
“I want to ensure that Googong is developed as a safe and sustainable community, with improved road infrastructure, public transport and a strong community spirit,” he said.
Mr Boz comes from a small business background in the area, helping with engineering services for the nearby defence, space and science communities in the region.
Alongside his family, Mr Boz has helped to run Marco Engineering in Googong for the past 32 years.
As part of his platform, he said he will aim to help promote many of the services in the Queanbeyan area to the wider defence community as well as emerging technology sectors.
“We have an exciting, forward thinking and strategically focused nine-point policy plan, which I’m sure will resonate with all voters in our new council area, and I'm keen to promote it to the electorate,” he said.
Mr Boz will be running as the fourth candidate on the Liberal Party ticket.
The council election is the first time the party has run an official party ticket in Queanbeyan.
