The event, being held at Queen Elizabeth II Park, is being jointly organised by Australian Marriage Equality and Labor candidate for the seat of Monaro Bryce Wilson.
Mr Wilson said the event was open to anyone who supported marriage equality.
“The major cities have all held rallies for marriage equality and Queanbeyan should not always leave it to Canberra to host these events,” he said.
“It will be great to see the people of Queanbeyan gather together and show their support for this cause.”
Mr Wilson said his own brother had to travel to Canada to marry his long term partner. He hoped his young daughter would grow up in a country where anyone had the right to marry someone they love.
The same-sex marriage postal survey forms have been arriving at people’s homes this week and are due back in November.
The event will begin at 11am and the group will set off on the walk at 11.30am. At midday they will gather again in the park for a barbecue lunch.
People are encouraged to bring food and wear something rainbow if they can.
