Dr Singhi is the lead dentist at Maven Dental Belconnen and a Clinical Advisory Board member.
“As a dentist I can get an indication of your general health by looking in your mouth.” This matters because “Your oral health can impact your overall health and wellbeing.”
This raises an important question. When was the last time you saw your dentist?
“For optimum dental health, we recommend visiting your dentist twice a year.”
Dr Singhi also believes “Educating patients is important. Through the use of technology, we can now show patients what we are looking at in their mouths. Through the process of showing and explaining what we are seeing, the patient is better informed.”
They also educate the youngest generation.
“We visit local schools and childcare centres dressed as a big tooth and tooth fairies to present our dental education program. This program shows children how to maintain good oral health routines and explain how their diet can impact their teeth. It’s mind-blowing, how those kids get motivated to take care of their teeth and gums after our visits.”
Meanwhile, you may be struggling for a little motivation to see them yourself.
“When people think of a dentist many people associate a negative emotion, and what we try to do is make sure their experience is a motivational one.”
Also, if you’re worried about costs, don’t be.
“We also want to make sure everything is affordable. We can offer 18 months interest-free finance if a certain procedure is necessary.”

Dr Singhi also commented on what it’s like to practice in the ACT.
“We are very fortunate to live in Canberra and serve this community. It is a very close-nit city and people are really aware and interested in good oral hygiene. We recently participated in the Ultimate Women’s Weekend Lifestyle and Wellbeing Expo. Our team was available to answer any question visitors had and we had the opportunity to meet more members of our community. It was a wonderful experience.”
The next community- based activity by Maven Dental Group is aligned to National Carer’s Week.
On Sunday October 15, 25 practices across Australia will open their doors to provide basic dental care to unpaid carers.
They have partnered with Carers Australia and “we look forward to helping those who do so much for their loved ones and often don’t have the chance to take care of themselves.”
Maven Dental Group have also been a long-time sponsor and supporter of the Kimberly Dental Team, a volunteer project for the remote region of WA.
Maven Dental Belconnen also participate in the CDBS (Child Dental Benefit Scheme), provide services with no gap to those eligible for the benefits of DVA (Department of Veterans Affairs), and they have a discount for those who hold a Seniors Card.
