The walk is a fundraiser for the Queanbeyan Hospital maternity unit and all proceeds will go directly to the ward to help them safely deliver our little ones.
Last year’s event saw roughly 300 people participate and raise $6,650 and organisers are hoping to improve on that figure this year.
Local member John Barilaro said he hoped the community would once again get behind the event.
“The Queanbeyan Maternity Ward has been ranked as one of the best maternity wards in NSW,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Walk 4 Babies is a wonderful opportunity to get out and support this excellent facility.”
Some of the equipment the ward has indicated they require are an updated patient monitor and a specialist breast pump to assist new mothers. The equipment amounts to over $15,000.
There will be a 5 kilometre walk beginning at 9am with registration opening at 8:30am. Some of the other activities include raffles, a barbecue and bake stall, a jumping castle, face painting and live music.
Registration costs $10 per person or $30 for a group of four and will be held at Queanbeyan Park, behind the Courthouse and Police Station.
