Local junior angler - Cooper - smashed it last week with a fat yellow just shy of 50cm.
His run did not stop at the competition; hitting Googong on the weekend, Cooper claimed a new PB with a healthy 60cm Googong yellow.

The fish took a Jackle mask vibe bounced along the bottom, and the way the fish fought and took line had the boys convinced it was a cod.
Well done, Cooper.
Meanwhile, I headed out for a quick flick in the Molonglo and managed to land a couple of spring goldens.
I found they were holding very tight to weed beds and/or structure, so a weedless approach worked well.
The south coast is still fishing well for bream, whiting and duskies in the estuaries; poppers and bloodworm plastics are working best.
Anglers spinning the beaches are still getting salmon and taylor; working the wash and gutters will pay off.
Out wide, snapper are consistent and there have been some good reports of yellow fin straight out the front of Bermagui.
