Between sideshow alley, the many animal events, wood chopping and the cake and craft stalls, visitors had plenty to keep them entertained. Jozef Spurek of Narrabundah has been working the at the Queanbeyan Show for 55 years and said there was nowhere he would rather be.
Mr Spurek said it was great to see children enjoying the show and recalled his own experiences as a child there where he was paid 10 shillings and made to trick punters with carnival games.
He said he particularly missed the more adult entertainment absent from the show in more recent years.
