If I were a dog, I would have marked December 3 on my human’s calendar with a big circle around it. That’s because it’s one of the only times of the year where pets are allowed at a concert venue in Canberra. Even better, it’s a Christmas concert featuring dogs!

Despite pouring rain during our casting calls a week ago, our panel of judges selected five incredibly talented canine acts that are ready to take the stage during our ‘12 Barks of Christmas Carols’ to perform between the sets of the Leisa Keen Trio.
This human act has quickly become one of Canberra’s busiest and most popular musical combos. With a diverse list of Christmas songs, you and your dog are bound to be singing-along in no time!
So, besides dogs and humans singing, what makes this event so exciting?
FOOD AND BEVERAGES
There will be plenty of food and beverages to choose from businesses like Canberra's first pop up wine bar, The Pop Inn, Shotclock Espresso, Capital Brewing Co and a number of warm food vendors too.
We didn’t forget the dogs either with Pupcake Bakery having their own popular dog goodies for sale on the day.
FUN FOR ALL AGES
Every child’s favourite Disney inspired characters Elsa and Anna, from Enchanted Canberra, are going to be making a special appearance. Kids or all ages can sing and dance along with the princesses’ right next to the stage. To commemorate this exciting experience they can even get their photo taken with them in our ‘Enchanted Zone’.
So your pooch doesn’t feel like they’re missing out we have a fun ‘Christmas Treat Hunt’ organised to get their tails wagging and noses sniffing.
SANTA PAWS
Sponsored by Icon Water, everyone’s favourite photobooth is back! What type of Christmas event would we be running if we didn’t have a guest appearance with Santa! The big man in red is making a very special appearance for our Icon Water ‘Santa Paws’ photobooth!
DON’T MISS OUT!
Loaded with fun and engaging activities for all ages, this will be a truly unforgettable event. In addition to Christmas cheer, patrons are encouraged to bring rugs, cushions, low backrests, picnics, sunhats and sunscreen.
Not only will it be a great excuse to get out of the house, the money fundraised from this event goes straight back to caring for abused and neglected animals at our Weston Shelter.
It costs us approximately $25 per day to look after a single animal at RSPCA ACT. The purchase of a ticket gives you a great night of enjoyment with your pet as well as the satisfaction of knowing the money goes directly to those that need it most.
End the year on a high and celebrate Christmas with your pooch and RSPCA ACT.
