Not too many anglers ventured out for the open season; those that did said Friday morning was best.
With this poor weather it's the perfect time to double check your gear and practice your knots, as 50 percent of fish loss is related to issues with gear.
There weren't too many decent fish caught, but my pick of the best would go to the 'Goog-anator' Roman, nailing a meter-plus on the RIP Shad (yet again) less than 10 minutes into his session.
Ginninderra produced a few little cod on surface lures in the early morning, and a nice fish was lost by local chef/angler Greg at Yerrabi, in pouring rain and late at night.

On the coast there are still plenty of rat kingfish at Montague but the weather has also been pretty lousy for fishing.
The beach has fished well for salmon and a few good flatties have been landed at the mouths of rivers at dead low tide.
