Bermagui seems to have missed out on the action, while Eden and the Bay are producing the most fish.

Adam Rolls fished Montague Island over the weekend on Nitro (his well-earned prize from the Greg Whitehead Challenge last year) and had an AMAZING day, landing 25 legal kings and some good snapper and flatties.  

Locally, some little ponds in Gungahlin region as well as Dunlop pond have had a fantastic redfin bite of late, and might I say I had a lot of fun bringing in a 40cm reddie on 1-3kg stick with 3lb braid! 

Ginninderra is also alive at the moment. I fished the lake last week and found large schools of redfin everywhere!

I know a lot of effort has been put into carp eradication in recent times and, in my opinion, redfin are causing just as much devastation to our native fish. Remember if you catch a redfin in any of our local waterways you should dispose of it humanely, rather than placing it back in the water.

The Murrumbidgee River has been okay fishing as long as the barometer is high.

I had a crack on Tuesday night and found fish in the faster moving water, around the eddies. Spinnerbaits and swim baits accounted for many follows but unfortunately no fishies.

We had a 60cm plus yellow follow a swim bait all the way to our feet and half heartedly nudge the lure several times. We also had four good cod follow our lures in close, to no avail. There were plenty of big BOOFS right on sunset but again not a fish.

All this activity proves the fish were there and hungry but the techniques on the night just couldn't cut the mustard.
