Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed holdup at a store in Queanbeyan on Wednesday.

About 1.50pm a man entered the Rockstar music store on Waniassa Street and was followed in by the 55-year-old male owner who had been outside talking to an acquaintance.
The owner asked the man if he required assistance and after declining, the man suddenly grabbed the owner from behind, and allegedly held a syringe to his throat.
The male threatened the owner and then grabbed cash from the register.
The male then fled from the store and was last seen running towards the tennis courts off Waniassa Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Monaro Police District attended and commenced a search for the man.
He was described to police as being 25-30 years of age, thin build and 178cm tall.
He had fair, short hair and was wearing a black cap, grey t-shirt and black pants.
Police continue with their inquiries to locate the offender and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Earlier witnesses reported seeing uniformed police, plain clothed detectives, sniffer dogs and forensics teams at the site.
