Members of the Jerrabomberra school community manned stalls across the school grounds, while at the western end of the school, kids ran amok on the rides, jumping castles and slides.
School principal Chris Hunter said the fete was better attended than the previous fete in 2010, and thanked the P&C- led by fete convenor Katrina Chisholm- for their hard work in organising the event.
"The highlight for me was the good community spirit on the day," Mrs Hunter said.
"I had numerous comments from people outside our community who said it was one of the best fetes they'd ever been to, and that they could feel the community spirit that was evident at the fete, that it was a really lovely day out for people," she said.
Mrs Hunter was the unlucky loser of the 'snuggle the snake' competition, a fund-raising competition between staff of the school where the person with the lowest dollar total by the day of the fete 'wins' the chance to get up close and personal with some slippery reptiles.

"Yes, I was the lucky winner," Mrs Hunter said.
"Mrs Parker raised over $400, which was a great effort, Mr Gil raised over $300, and Mr Hancock and I were fighting it out at the end. I think he got $107 and I got around $103, so it was very close," she said.
The Queanbeyan Age was in attendance on the day to judge the Jerrabomberra Public School photography competition, run by Telstra Shop owner Neil Kennedy.
A number of striking images were entered in the 'junior school', 'senior school' and 'parents and siblings' categories, with mobile phones and gift vouchers on offer for the winners.
Mr Kennedy also awarded a special prize to three-year-old photographer Emilija Lozberis for her portrait photo of her sister Elena.
"There were some fantastic photos entered this year. I was very impressed," Mr Kennedy said.
