The Queanbeyan Mental Health Project Group recognised some people find health clinics confronting, and wanted to supply basic medical screenings in a non-threatening environment.
Ability Links NSW runs the project and their representative Amy Nelson said they “wanted to reduce the barriers to make it easier for everyone in the community to achieve an overall well-being”.
The pop-up clinic operates on the first Wednesday of each month from 10am until noon, followed by a free hot lunch at 12.30pm. The health checks take place in the meeting room at St. Benedict’s on the corner of Rutledge and Crawford streets.
