“During the development of this new website, Council looked at the analytics from the Queanbeyan City and Palerang councils’ websites to identify the information most commonly searched for by our ratepayers,” Mr Tozer says.
“Using this information, we have prioritised the top nine tasks and ensured they are prominently featured on the site’s homepage.
“Statistics show that 45% of people accessing our website are doing so through mobile devices, which is why Council has ensured that the new site is fully responsive to mobile phones and tablets.”
The website also features a ‘My Neighbourhood’ section, which allows users to locate events, parks, council works and projects near their address.
A live chat feature will also allow website users to have real time conversations with council staff during business hours.
