Except, you may not have realised that one or both of this father and son team worked on those cases.
That’s understandable, since a lot of the time you never will.
This is because the people providing the legal representation are not named in news reports all that often.
Both Ian and Henry Marjason appear across many different jurisdictions and different courts.
During the short time the firm has been operating, they have already had success with some notable cases in the ACT Supreme Court. They also represent clients in NSW courts.
To see a handful of examples that will show you some cases they have been involved in, go to www.facebook.com/marjasonsolicitors and have a look through their posts for yourself.
Ian Marjason is the father, and Henry Marjason is the son, and their new firm only opened in late 2016. Ian has been in the area for nearly four decades though. He has lived in nearby Bungendore since 1980.
In that period Ian has also served the community in other ways, at one time as Mayor of Palerang Shire and as Mayor of Yarrowlumla Shire at another.
Meanwhile, as you may have guessed, Henry was born and raised in Bungendore. Henry also started his legal career in Queanbeyan.
Ian has experience in a broad range of legal fields, but in this new firm he tends to specialise in family law. Ian is also an accredited specialist in advocacy, a public notary and an accreddited mediator.

Henry meanwhile, now has quite a bit of experience with criminal law, family law and conveyancing.
The firm also helps people with commercial law, migration issues, wills and estates, and dispute resolution.
The staff making up the team at Marjason and Marjason also includes conveyancing clerks Julie Devine and Robbie Freestone. Each brought at least three decades of experience to the job.
Julie has worked extensively with NSW and ACT residential, commercial and rural conveyancing, while Robbie is considered their rural conveyancing expert.
Gary Robb’s role is special counsel, while their administration trio of paralegals are Juanita Zankin, Courtney Burgess and Jack Durr.
The majority of the time Juanita works closely with Ian while Courtney works closely with Henry.
