It will incorporate an expanded emergency department, new acute-care beds, an inpatient ward, staff quarters, expanded community services, and up to 37 high-care units.
The developers of a new housing model in Braidwood believe this will make the town a new hub for aged care in the Queanbeyan-Palerang area.
“This substantial redevelopment, together with the introduction of the Federal Government’s My Aged Care last February 2017 means there has never been a better reason to plan your move to Summerfield” one of the development’s representatives said in a statement.
Summerfield is a new over 55s housing development which provides purchasers with a freehold title house-and-land package.
It is specifically designed for seniors, within a community plan of subdivision.
“Few would have failed to be alarmed at recent media stories about retirement villages with their rules and onerous exit arrangements” they illustrated.
“The big differences with Summerfield, compared to most retirement villages and rental parks, are the freehold title together with no exit fees or DMF charges. In addition Summerfield is administered by an owner’s corporation not a sole operator.”
Summerfield’s houses and apartments “are all single-level and meet the NSW Governments SEPP Seniors Housing code. They are specifically designed for secure independent living within the Home for Life development model.”
Summerfield also had the Federal Government’s new home care service scheme, My Aged Care, in mind.
“Combining the design of Summerfield’s homes with My Aged Care’s range of services is a tremendous concept. However when you add in new 21st century technology, available at Summerfield the benefits are potentially life-changing.”
Summerfield believe they have created a sophisticated dwelling design with quality inclusions to make them enjoyable, easy to live in and much healthier.
They are creating a “friendly community, secure environment, together with common facilities that encourage activity and social interaction.”
Summerfield’s common facilities include a clubhouse, heated pool and gym, arts and craft, and a community garden.
It is positioned adjacent to Braidwood (MPS) Hospital with its emergency, health services, community services and aged care.
