Not just a car show, Classic Yass on Saturday, November 4 has something for everyone, an atmosphere that engages and entertains and is a free event for the whole family.
Classic Yass has been bringing together all the best parts of the ‘good old days’ for 12 years in the historic town of Yass.
Staged in the pristine Banjo Paterson and Riverbank parks in the town centre, a stunning collection of around 300 classic cars, motorcycles and even historic racing cars dating from the early 1900s right through to the end of the ’70s, form the classic motor show.
The thrills and spills of the Rotary Billy Cart Derby take place on a closed section of road between the two parks.
With 10 categories and a host of prizes there is plenty of fun for the young and young at heart.
Grab your gloves, kick on those pumps or grease back your hair.
Swing into your favorite outfit from 1900s to the 1970s.
Whether you dress up as Bonnie and Clyde, Marilyn Monroe, ‘The Fonz’, Sandy from Grease, or wear that wonderful old outfit that was your grandmother’s, it’s entirely up to you.

“Last year the Vintage Fashion Competition almost stole the show,” event organiser Glenda Snape from the Yass Antique Motor Club said.
“We had a terrific turn out of vintage fashion. Some people participate in the fashion parade while others just enjoy the stroll among the cars and market stalls.
“We have some fantastic prizes for vintage fashion again this year, so raid the wardrobe or the op-shops to find the look you love and come and enjoy the fun.”
From 11am, sensational live music will be performed by The Hips from Sydney, who feature two of the original Ol’55 line up from 1975; Rockpile Jones and Paul McCann.
Not only do they cover a host of hits from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, they will also perform a couple of original Ol’55 hits, On The Prowl and Looking For An Echo on the main stage in Banjo Paterson Park.
A huge variety of market stalls in the parks, the Rotary Farmers’ Market as well as morning teas, hobby, art and vintage fashion displays and sales in the Soldiers’ Memorial Hall, plus the newly refurbished Shannon’s Super Rig, will keep everybody entertained.
The nostalgia continues on Sunday, November 5 with an open day at Yass Railway Museum (gold coin donation on entry).
Also, new this year, several Yass Valley wineries will provide a relaxing opportunity to sample a range of cool climate wines. Don’t miss what promises to be a great day.
