Casting Call!
This year, performing between the human musical sets will be canine acts! That’s right! Your best pal could be a local star, displaying his or her talents for all to see.
To find this four-legged talent, RSPCA ACT is holding a casting call on November 18 at our Weston Shelter. Be they tricksters, singers or dancers, we want to see your furry family members perform on the big stage this year!
If the bright lights and adoring fans are not enough to get your pooch on stage, all chosen canines will also get a free family pass (two adults and two children) for their human family to watch them perform and delight the masses at ‘12 Barks of Christmas Carols.’
We have three exciting guest judges that will be scoring your furry pals. The solo male writer from HerCanberra, Calum Stenning, baker extraordinaire from television’s ‘Zumbo’s Just Desserts’, Allie King, and the gorgeous Courtenay Davies from 106.3’s afternoon drive program.
The judges will mark your pooch on categories such as Christmas spirit, talent, confidence and last but not least, their ability to show their personality.
While scores will be tallied at the end, on the day a select few could be given an exclusive ‘Golden Ticket’ from a judge that guarantees them a spot on stage on the big day PLUS special tickets to our VIP marquee. The other successful acts will be notified the following week based on their final score.
So, get out your dog’s favourite Christmas costume and training gear now. There are only a few days left to ensure that your star has their chance to become famous!
Be at the RSPCA ACT Shelter, 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, from 9.30am-12pm on November 18.
