In case you missed it, ACAT handed down their decision on the proposed supermarket and apartment development on the carpark near the library and Woolies at Dickson. The tribunal emphatically rejected the proposal and reversed the decision to approve any development. As best we can, we will keep you up to date with where things will go at our next meeting at 7.30pm Wednesday, April 18 at the Downer Community Centre.

We have a presentation from the ACT Housing Renewal Task force on where they plan to go from here and a general update on where things are currently up to. With developments currently in Dickson and Turner and others around North Canberra in the pipeline getting up to date information is important to us all.
We will also hear from a new organisation with some new concepts in the housing space. The group is recently formed under the See-Change umbrella and will work in the area of co-housing which is an interesting co-operative concept that we will hear all about.
Keep Wednesday, April 18 free to come to the Downer Community Centre, Frencham Place, Downer at 7.30pm. For those who can’t make it keep an eye out for our new Facebook Live feed details which will be notified soon.
