The first stage includes the design and construction of the main shed, carpark, basic amenities and associated works.
The facility will house three fire trucks, equipment and provide training and logistics facilities for the Captains Flat Rural Fire Brigade.
Integrated plans: Don’t miss your chance to comment on our integrated plans, which are on exhibition until Monday, June 4. The plans include the Delivery Program 2018-21, which lists capital projects that council plans to undertake in the next three years, as well as a more detailed look at the 2018-19 year in the Operational Plan, Fees and Charges and Revenue Policy.
The easiest way to view the documents and make a submission is via our engagement website: yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au.
Queanbeyan CBD Transformation and Head Office: The council considered a report on the redevelopment of the Queanbeyan CBD including a council head office and smart hub.
Council deferred the decision on a potential location for the new building, but is considering three options including the redevelopment of 257 Crawford Street, a site within the Lowe Street carpark, and a site on the corner of Rutledge and Crawford Streets.
Outdoor Dining: Council agreed to extend participation in the NSW Outdoor Dining trial until December 31. Council has participated in the trial since September 2017 and we will continue to waive the annual fee per square metre for outdoor dining for the duration of the trial.
The NSW Small Business Commissioner has been undertaking the trial with eight local governments and the extension will allow the NSW Government to evaluate its success, assess customer experience improvements and to test an online application form developed by Service NSW.
Back Creek Bridge: (pictured) Works are progressing well with completion of the bridge structure expected by early June. Once the contractor has vacated the site, the council will construct the road approaches and the project is expected to be complete by mid-July. Back Creek Bridge is on Cooma Road, near Braidwood.
