A 13-year-old is due to face Queanbeyan Children’s Court on May 30 for alleged property and driving related offences.

In a statement on the Monaro Police District Facebook page, officers alleged the young person committed a break and enter at a premises in Googong on Sunday evening where it is believes the young person stole a small amount of cash and keys toa Mitsubishi Lancer Wagon.
Police allege the young person drove the car along Henderson Road where they were spotted by a Highway Patrol Vehicle which activated its lights and siren.
“However, the young person increased speed to no less than 120 kph in a sign posted 50kph area, where the pursuit was terminated.,” the statement read.
“At some point between Stornaway and Ross Roads, the Lancer travelled on the incorrect side of the road and subsequently on the wrong side of a dividing traffic island.”
It is alleged that a short time later the Lancer collided heavily with another vehicle (a Ford), which caused the vehicle to crash into a parked landcruiser, which subsequently hit another car (a Barina).
Police allege the young person fled the scene.
The young person was located on Ross Road, Queanbeyan at 11pm and taken to Queanbeyan Police station.
The young person was charged with:
- Two charges of Break, Enter and Stealing offences.
- One charge of Take and Drive Conveyance without Consent of the Owner.
- One charge of Police-Purusit-Not Stop and Drive at Speed.
- Two charges of Not give particulars to the Other Driver.
- Onecharge of Not being licensed to Drive.
- One charge of Steal Motor Vehicles
