Burrinjuck is the place to be. Over the weekend, 10 fish over a metreh were caught, as well as plenty of 80 and 90cm specimens. Large jig spins matched with a large plastic worked well and also large surface lures accounted for many fish caught. Plenty of fish were also caught trolling large hard bodies in between 2-4metres of water at night and early morning.
Googong is also somewhere to check out in the coming weeks.
Googong is also somewhere to check out in the coming weeks. As we all know, it does produce some huge cod in winter.
In the mountains, the water level is still extremely low but there are fish around in the rivers. Thredbo River is creating more smiles than the Eucumbene; but it’s raining as I write, so fingers crossed this next downpour brings on the fish. The lakes themselves have had fantastic fishing, both in the boat and off the bank.
Locally LBG is still producing the goods with yellow belly and redfin quite hungry and looking for a nice plastic to bounce past their face. There have been some solid redfin caught over the last week with fish over the 40cm range not uncommon. Fishing the drains and water pipes that lead into the lake after rain is a great attack plan to start with, and has been very productive.
