- Bare rooted roses, grapes, berries and fruiting as well as ornamental trees and shrubs can still be planted out until the end of July or early August, by which time new bud growth will be well and truly evident.
- Cut back any hedges or trees that are overhanging the end of your driveway and adjacent pavement. Neighbours’ line of sight to the road may be obscured as they back out of their driveway. Postmen may not be able to reach the letterbox and pedestrians may be obliged to walk on the nature strip.
- Prune pome fruits – apples pears and quince. Cut out any dead or diseased branches as well as any that either cross or grow in congestion in the centre of the tree. Brush down the trunks to dislodge any codling moth larvae sheltering in the bark.
