Bungendore Floodplain Risk Management implementation: Council has endorsed a Floodplain Risk Management Plan for Bungendore. We recently engaged NSW Public Works to undertake site investigations and develop designs for the implementation of the plan. The proposed measures include upgrading the existing Turallo Terrace levee, constructing an overflow channel across Tarago Road and removing dense vegetation and reshaping creek where Turallo, Halfway and Millpost Creeks meet. Comments on the plans are open at yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au.
Queanbeyan CBD Car Parking Strategy: Council is currently seeking comment on the Queanbeyan CBD Car Parking Strategy. The key points from the strategy include an overall increase of car spaces in the CBD; the construction of multistorey, smart car parks at the Morisset and Crawford St car parks; staging works over 10+ years in line with the CBD transformation strategy; and giving priority to short-stay, high turnover car parks with long-stay, untimed car parks located on the perimeter of CBD. The strategy is open for comment until August 20 at yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au.
QPRC Arts Trail: Artists, galleries and workshops are invited to participate in this year’s Arts Trail event. 2018 is the 12-year anniversary of this great event.
