- Collect and clean any spare pots and punnets. Scrub them in hot soapy water with added bleach to disinfect.
- Make up a batch of seed raising mix which will soon be needed to start off seeds of tender crops under cover.
- Sulphur is one of the best acidifying agents to lower the pH of alkaline soil to suit acid soil loving plants. Should you need to reduce the alkalinity by one unit from 7.5 to 6.5 the recommended amount of sulphur to incorporate is 100g per sqm.
- Clear lawns of moss by aerating the ground with a fork or corer to improve the drainage. Increase the amount of light by cutting back any overhanging shrubs.
- Remove moss from paths with the aid of bleach and a stiff broom.
