According to organisers the evening is setup to “have more ferocity and spellbinding magic than Cerberus, the three-headed dog guarding the underworld”.
The Roller Derby League's four home teams will be battling for the honour of the Bronze Final and the Darby Derby Cup.
In a classic underdog tale the Brindabelters will be vying for the Darby Derby Cup for only the fourth time in the history of the League.
In a rematch of last year’s Grand Final, the Belters are up against the “all-conquering, back-to-back-to-back grand final victors, the Red Bellied Black Hearts.”
The Belters have had an amazing season, in game after game they have defied the odds to beat back the competition with gutsy, never-say-die play.
The Black Hearts are experts at finals though, and always save their best until last.
If that isn't enough, the bronze final game is another blast from the past.
The League's two foundation teams, the Surly Griffins and the Black 'n' Blue Belles, will battle it out for the Bronze.
The Griffs and the Belles have long history as rivals and both teams have a stake in adding another notch to their skates.
All four home teams (the mighty Brindabelters, the Surly Griffins, the majestic Black ‘n’ Blue Belles, and the Red Bellied Black Hearts) have members of the regional a-grade team the Vice City Rollers, plus a mix of debuting, newer, and experienced skaters.
Skaters include international roller derby representatives ShortStop, Freudian Slit, Bambi von Smash'er, Lady Painicorn, Laser Station, Slinger and Sickly Shriek.
The Prime Sinisters include Angel Backstab and Miss Conduct who have skated for Team Australia Junior Roller Derby, which includes all of the junior teams.
The finals start with a Junior Roller Derby bout featuring the derby’s own Prime Sinisters.
Doors open at 2.00pm, with the juniors starting at 2:15pm.
The showdown between the Surly Griffins and the Black 'n' Blue Belles will commence at 4:00pm.
